I have lived in 4 states. FL, NC, MD, and now Wash state. The winter time here is gray and it rains like a mist and light rain. Everyone has the perceptions that it rains everyday. During the Summer we can get 30 to 60 days with no rain. The best time to come to Seattle is August. You will get 70 to 80 in the day. At night it cools down to 55 to 65.
I have no AC. Most people have no AC ( we have a few small Air conditioners for about 10 days a year )It is one of the safest Big cities in the US. Lots of good Coffee - We have Microsoft and Boeing as 2 major players. If you want a winter vacation we have 85 to 125 inch base - 3 mountains that are one hour from my home. I hope this information is helpful with some of you getting gout of the heat in the summer!
School Story:
Pretty funny - I used to bring a steak knife and fork to lunch. I would eat left over Prime rib and everyone thought that was crazy. What is crazy if I tried that now - they would have the police lock me up for attempting to stab a teacher - although I really would be using the knife for prime rib only!
